Your equity is the value of your account including the as yet unrealized profits and losses of your open positions.

Unlike your balance, which doesn’t take open positions into account, the value of your trading account is basically the total value of your account at the present moment including all of your open trades.

The value of your trading account is calculated by taking your balance and adding or subtracting the value of your current trades, depending on if they are in profit or loss (Balance + or – floating profit/loss= equity).

Is also another name for a stock or a share.
