Technical analysis is a school of market analysis that only cares about what takes place on the chart (past price action).

Over the years, technical analysts have identified a large number of chart patterns that occur at different points of an asset’s cycle between overbought and oversold.

These patterns are used to identify possible trading scenarios not to predict where the price is going to go.
