Brent Crude Oil

Also known as London Brent and Brent Blend, Brent crude is a type of crude oil from the United Kingdom’s the North Sea. Brent crude is a blend of oils extracted from around 15 separate oil fields in the area. It is known as a “light-sweet” due to its low density and low sulphur content.

The main reason that you tend to hear so much about Brent oil crude over other types of oil, is that it is used as a benchmark against which most of the world’s crude oil is priced.
